Rory Williamson is the Founder, Owner and Principal Teacher of Rory Williamson School of Dance, a studio she established over 25 years ago and continues to lead with passion and integrity. Rory is a highly respected dance educator, examiner/assessor, syllabus author, and teacher trainer, and is also a Director of dance syllabus organisation Australian Dance Visions (ADV). She is a co-author of the ADV Jazz syllabus and has contributed to the ADV Classical Ballet syllabus, as well as mentoring and training teachers nationally. Trained to professional advanced levels in classical ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, Rory also performed at this level. Her training includes mentorship under former Borovansky dancer and ADV Director Penny Lancaster, which strongly influences her commitment to technical excellence, artistry, and safe dance practice alongside dance education. Rory is widely regarded within the industry for her ability to educate dancers holistically. She is passionate about developing strong, up-to-date technique alongside confident performance skills, and believes dance should be accessible to both recreational students and aspiring professionals alike. Central to her philosophy is the understanding that families need a studio environment that supports high-quality training while allowing balance with everyday life. Through her studio, syllabus work, and teacher education, Rory continues to shape dancers and educators with a focus on longevity, artistry, and a lifelong love of dance.
